I have been suggested to work on more complex, longer term electronic design projects. This Open Source USB hub is my first attempt. I will update the github repository on the fly, before the videos are posted. The repository is on github here.
SparkeyinVA from the discord channel (link to join) suggested the concept for this project. There are many Type-C UFP (Upstream Facing Port) USB hubs for sale on Amazon. However, almost all of them are USB 3.0 gen 1, getting power from the host device. I want this to be unique and to be challenging (little did I know how challenging it would become!)
This video focuses on the overview of USB Type-C technologies as a whole, including going over a great appnote by Texas Instruments (SLYY109). I also discus some challenges with USB hubs for USB-C specifically. I ask for user feedback for the direction of this project.
